Well Drilling Services
A dependable water supply starts with a properly drilled well. At Levesque Well Drilling, we provide residential well drilling services for homeowners throughout Central and Southern Maine. With generations of experience behind us working the Maine terrain, we understand Maine’s geology, regulations, and seasonal challenges. We know we need to approach every job with care and attention to detail because no two wells are the same.
Each property’s requirements for water flow is different, and the depth and yield of a well depends on local conditions below the surface. Our goal is to drill a well that provides reliable water for everyday household use, while meeting the State of Maine requirements we must follow.
Residential Well Drilling
We drill wells for new construction, replacement wells, and properties where an existing well is no longer meeting water needs. Whether you are building a new home or addressing water issues at your existing one, we take the time to assess the site and explain the process clearly before any work begins.
Our drilling equipment is well maintained, and all work is completed by experienced professionals who have spent years in the field. When the drilling is complete, the well is ready for pump installation so water can be delivered into your home.

Dry Wells and Low Water
Running low on water can be stressful, especially during dry conditions like we’ve experienced in recent Maine summers. In some cases, existing wells may struggle to keep up with household demand. If you are experiencing low water or have run out of water entirely, we can evaluate the situation and help determine next steps.
We also provide guidance on what you can do immediately if your water stops flowing, including steps that can help protect your pump system until service is available.
Seasonal Drilling
Well drilling is typically scheduled when ground conditions allow for safe and effective work. While drilling can sometimes be done in colder months, conditions vary, and winter drilling is handled on a case by case basis. If winter drilling is not possible, we will discuss scheduling options or alternatives with you.
Understanding Water Yield
Many homeowners focus on gallons per minute when thinking about a well, but depth also plays an important role. Maine regulations take both into account to determine whether a well provides enough usable water for a household. A deeper well with lower flow can still offer a reliable supply when properly drilled and set up.
Levesque Well Drilling Recommended Flow Rates:
100 ft = 6 gal/min
140 ft = 5 gal/min
180 ft = 4gal/min
240 ft = 3 gal/min
320 ft = 2 gal/min
420 ft = 1 gal/min
Levesque Well Drilling uses higher flow rates then normal state standards, and we follow all State of Maine guidelines. We know this can be confusing, so we are sure to take the time to explain what your well’s depth and yield mean for your daily use.
